CURRENTLY WORKING ON COMMISSIONS

 Hello,

Welcome to my website of One Of A Kind barbie dolls. Those are "TOTAL REPAINTS"  - all original paints were removed and repainted with artist quality acrylic paints and sealers. All clothes are handmade. I usevarious versions of Ken or Barbie as palettes for my artistic expression. If a complex historical hairstyle can't be achieved with the existing figure, I reroot the hair, trim, perm and apply finishing touches that may include hand-applied beads or braided fibers.

I do take personal requests. The price for dressed repaint is $350-$900 depending on type of the doll and costume.

Just a little about myself...

I was born in Ukraine and lived there for 23 years. I was growing up in a wonderful engineers’ family, which was fascinated with the World’s ART. I grew up with my parents and the only one older brother

I remember my mom showing us filmstrips with Great paintings and statues from the greatest World’s Museums like Dresden gallery, Hermitage and others since I was 5 years old. Every evening before going to bed we were enjoying the miracles of art. I could spent hours just studying these paintings and features on the statues.

Since my dad was pretty great with drawing I was often asking him to make some pictures for me and then I was closely observing everything he was doing and long and persistently tried to repeat after him. I studied different techniques and books to make paintings.

I loved to draw animals, mostly horses in black and white. When I was 9, my love to horses took the priority in my life, I entered so called back then “Horse Academy” and I was making paintings of them trying to picture not only the appearance but also the personality every one of them. I was doing sport till I graduated the High school.

My parents wanted me to be a high educated person to make money for life so I was accepted and graduated The Kharkov State University (biochemistry faculty). Then I was working as a teacher and my love to art has become my hobby. I constantly improved my art techniques and finished a few classes on mastering my techniques of a portrait.

I have moved to USA in 2002. This is where I found out
about OOAK dolls, and was totally fascinated by it. I really love to create a personality not just a repaint. This is why you can see so many Historical images and images from my favorite books and movies in my work.

My older daughter, she is 16 now, was fascinated with an Ancient Egypt and she’s asking me to create dolls for her. This is how I started to create OOAK DOLLS. I was so involved in a process that I could not stop…

finally I found my passion and my hobby turned out to be my the only permanent job, which I love dearly and can’t picture my life without. Each of my creations has a part of my heart and my love in them. It seems like my mind never rests, I’m always and constantly thinking about improving my techniques and images so I can reach perfection.

I am a wife and a mother of two wonderful daughters.
